It is not neccessary to change from TRÅDFRI gateway to DIRIGERA hub, the gateway and the app will still be supported. But there are benefits in doing so. DIRIGERA hub comes with a new and improved app as well as new digital features. The closest smart product should be placed within 10 metres (the range is measured in open air) from DIRIGERA hub. Each smart product then creates a network and increases the coverage, as long as each product is within 10 metres of another one.

Everyone in the home with a mobile or tablet device can download and use the IKEA Home smart app to control the home. Remote controls are the perfect tool for guests when they quickly want to turn on/off or dim lights. Use the app to dim the lights and change to warmer tones above the coffee table to appease tired evening eyes.
Use the remote control later to turn off the same lights. Ask Siri to turn up the music when your hands are busy chopping tomatoes. Schedule the bedroom air purifier to prepare for bedtime. And press a shortcut button by the door when leaving to run the Scene where everything is safely turned off (including the shirt steamer). -
Yes, the IKEA Home smart app connects with DIRIGERA hub and your smart products when you are using the same Wi-Fi. However, in the app you can set up Scenes where you choose which of your smart products should be turned on or off at a specific time. This is a perfect way to, for example, schedule lights to be turned on just before you come home at night or to set a timer for the roller blinds to temporarily roll down at midday to block out the sun, and later roll up again when sun is gone.

The Sonos app is needed to set up your SYMFONISK speaker, and can also be used to browse and play music. Similar to the Sonos app, the IKEA Home smart app can also stream music to speakers of your choice and can also be included in Scenes. After all, waking up to the sound of your favourite playlist is great!

As we keep developing new smart products, and as the technology they require also develops rapidly, not all smart products will be able to connect to TRÅDFRI gateway and will require DIRIGERA hub instead.

Already purchased smart products from IKEA can be connected to DIRIGERA hub and managed in the IKEA Home smart app. As new features, standards, and safety improvements are being added, older products may not support these. This is a result of our work to improve the smart home system and make it more convenient for the many people.

We have noticed some users seem to have problems with Homekit not recognising all devices connected to DIRIGERA. Please try to fully remove the integration from Homekit and the IKEA Home smart app, reboot DIRIGERA by cutting power off for a few seconds, let it restart and set the integration up again.

We are part of the CSA (Connectivity standard alliance) and will work towards Matter certification step-by-step, and the first step we are targeting is that DIRIGERA will be a Matter bridge in a couple of months.

For now, if you want to set an individual end time, you can create a new scene with a reverse-order, e.g. setting lights to "off" instead of "on" at the desired time. More options and features can be expected in future releases.

Timers have been made a part of scenes. You can find them in each scene's settings.

For now, you can create one scene, e.g. starting devices with sunrise and another scene with the same devices from the first scene ending with sunset. More options and features can be expected in future releases.

Please try to change the battery. A low energy coincell battery might affect performance and the factory reset process.

Please check if batteries are empty or on low energy, this can affect performanceas well as the factory reset process. During the factory reset, make sure to not accidentally press the top of the remote, this could interfere with the process.

This could be due to a recent firmware bug draining them. Please change the battery, factory reset it and add it again to DIRIGERA hub/TRÅDFRI gateway. The newest firmware will be pushed automatically to the remote.

Yes, you can see the battery status of remotes and smart blinds in the app. Select the device, click on the pen tool and "about device".

If the battery is completely drained the remote is offline and not visible in the app. Please replace the battery, the remote should connect by itself shortly after. If the problem persists, please remove it from the app/hub, factory reset it and pair it again. This should also resolve any firmware issues with the remote.

If you need help with a function or support, you can find the Help & support centre by clicking on the avatar symbol in the bottom right corner. There, you will find the support section with different options to choose from. During the installation process of DIRIGERA hub, you can click on the question mark icons to find out more.

There may be several reasons for this. Try the following steps: Switch it off/power cut the device as a first step. If applicable, check if the battery is empty. If the battery is low, we suggest a change. If this has not helped, try to remove the device from the app/hub, factory reset it and pair it again. This should also resolve any firmware issues with the device.

There is no official limit but the hub has a lot of memory space. It should be able to manage at least 100 devices.

Away-from-home access is currently available through the integration feature with e.g. Apple Homekit, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa.
