Unsure how many curtains you need? Multiply the rod/track width by 1.5 for a full look, or 2 for an extra full look. Then divide by the width of a single curtain and round up.
Since the fabric will shrink when washing it is a good idea to wash the curtains prior to cutting/hemming.
You can use SY iron-on hemming strip to shorten the curtains without sewing.

For a 290 cm curtain pair, use: 36 VIDGA gliders and hooks; 20 RIKTIG curtain hooks for pleating with VIDGA gliders and hooks; or 36 SYRLIG curtain rings with clips and hooks. Add more for fuller folds.

What is polyester?

The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
