IKEA proactively recalls certain outdoor lighting chains and lamps from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ and UTSUND

IKEA urges all customers who own the affected outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ and UTSUND to stop using them and contact IKEA, due to a manufacturing error in their plug. Affected products can be identified via name of the LED-driver, date stamp of the LED-driver, and name of the plug (all details below).

Why are these products not safe to use?

Safety is a top priority for IKEA and therefore we are recalling certain outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ and UTSUND as the plug of these products does not fulfill a relevant safety standard, resulting in the possible risk of electric shock.

During their development, IKEA products are risk assessed and thoroughly tested to make sure that our products comply with applicable requirements and regulation on all markets where IKEA operates.

Despite this it has come to our attention that a certain plug used for the above-listed products does not comply with a relevant safety standard for limiting water ingress due to a manufacturing error. Therefore, all IKEA outdoor LED lighting chains and lamps that include the affected plug are being recalled. Affected products can be identified via name of the LED-driver (ICPSH24-2-IL-1), date stamp (YYWW – see all affected date stamps in list above) of the LED-driver, and name of the plug (SYK-02F). Products with other LED-drivers, other date stamps and another plug are not in scope of this recall.

What should customers do?

Customers who own one of the affected products should immediately stop using it and contact IKEA for a replacement product or a full refund.

What remedy can customers expect?

Affected products can be returned to any IKEA store for a replacement product or full refund Proof of purchase (i.e. a receipt) is not required.

IKEA apologizes for any inconvenience this recall may cause.

IKEA proactively recalls FULLÄNDAD spoon

Following notification of the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET), IKEA proactively recalls in Greece reinforced polyamide FULLÄNDAD spoon of grey colour. An on-site inspection resulted in the identification of migration of primary aromatic amines over the permissible limit.

Customer safety is IKEA’s first priority. Our products are risk assessed and thoroughly tested to make sure that they comply with applicable requirements and regulation on all markets where IKEA operates.

As a result, an internal audit has been initiated and all necessary procedures will be followed based on the results obtained.

Until then, and in order to guarantee consumer safety, we recall FULLÄNDAD spoon of grey colour with item number 203.929.88 (only for production batch number 2401).

Customers who own such a product should immediately stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund at any IKEA store.
