What size should you go for?
If you’re getting a new wardrobe, then probably the first thing to consider is what size you want. It’s good to think about how much you have to store and to measure the space where you’re going to put your wardrobe.
Organising inside – hanging
Hanging things like shirts, dresses and jackets means fewer wrinkles and gives you a good overview so you can see what you have and get some outfit inspiration. You can arrange your clothes by type – all jackets together and so on. Or by colour, which makes things look calmer – especially helpful if you have an open wardrobe.
Hanging works for accessories, too
Hanging them up is an easy to see, easy to get at and space-saving way to store things like scarves, ties and accessories.
There’s more space on top
You can turn the top of your wardrobe into organised storage with some boxes. Go for ones that blend in with your wardrobe if you want to keep things looking calm.
Mirrors that give you more
A large mirror is really a dressing area essential. A lot of IKEA wardrobes come with mirror doors and of course you can find plenty of mirrors to put on your wall, too. Or why not go for a standing mirror like here? You can hang tomorrow’s outfit up tonight and sleep a bit longer in the morning or freshen up worn-once clothes by airing them.
